A double major in Sports Studies and Public Health, Cary has a 4.0 GPA while being a leader on the women's soccer team. Cary is an Academic All-Big Ten selection, a published author, the lead content creator of Girls Soccer Network, the president of the Iowa Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and the Student-Athlete Representative on the Presidential Committee for Academics. She has presented at the United Soccer Coaches Convention, been on numerous podcasts, mentored dozens of young athletes, and coordinated and planned the largest gathering for student-athletes in Iowa to discuss mental health concerns as college athletes.
